It’s been a long time since we have been battling this Covid-19. However, looking at the current situation, it feels that this pandemic is not going anywhere soon. Since all the shops, supermarkets and provisions are closed amid this pandemic, many people are suffering. And the birthday babies are no exception to this.
So I tried making a chocolate cake without a oven , cocoa powder, and baking powder for my special one. To my surprise, it turned out to be delicious, just like the ones we get in cake shops. So, here I am sharing my recipe with you guys.
My cake making process was divided into three sections
- Cake batter
- Frosting
- Final touch up
Here are the ingredients used.
- Cake batter
Vanilla cake mix, Hershey’s milk booster, water, milk, and oil
- Chocolate frosting
All-purpose flour (maida), milk and Hershey’s milk booster, and sugar
- Decoration
Cadbury Dairy Milk and golden balls.
Process
Empty the entire vanilla cake mix into a vessel.
Add water to the vanilla mixture gradually while mixing it slowly. You can also add milk to it to make it tastier.
Add oil to the batter and give it a good mix. Avoid the formation of lumps.
Add a sufficient amount of Hershey’s milk booster and keep tasting the batter for checking the taste.
Gradually the vanilla flavor will fade as the content of chocolate increases.

Now, take a baking tray or a normal vessel that would fit into a pressure cooker or a cooking vessel that can be completely covered with a lid.
Grease the container/baking tray from all sides and transfer the batter.
If you are baking the cake in a pressure cooker, keep the batter on a medium flame for 40-45 minutes.
If you are baking it in a cooking vessel (kadhai), preheat the vessel for 10 minutes and place the container into it. (Avoid direct contact with flame, you can place a wire gauge below the container)

Cover the vessel with a lid.
By the time, let us prepare the frosting.
For this, you need to add all-purpose flour to milk.
Give it a good mix and heat the mixture while stirring it continuously. (proper mixing is important other the mixture will form lumps)
Add Hershey’s milk booster and sugar to the mixture and let it thicken up.
Your chocolate frosting is ready.
Final Assembling
Your cake should be ready at this time. Insert a toothpick into the cake and check whether it is evenly baked from inside.
If the toothpick comes out clear, you are good to go.
If not, let the cake bake for 10 more minutes.
Let the cake cool down for 30 minutes, after which you can demould by slicing it from the sides using a knife.
Place the cake on a plate and spread the frosting evenly all over it using a spatula.
Grate Cadbury Dairy Milk and decorate the cake from its sides using the peeled chocolate pieces.
Sprinkle the golden balls randomly on the sides.
And finally, our cake is ready.
You can decorate it as per your wish, but make sure you already have pre-planned it.
Here’s my cake, trust me guys, it tasted awesome.
Please give this recipe a try and share your photos with me. I would be glad to have a look at your innovative cake decoration styles.
Here I end my blog. I hope this global pandemic ends soon so that our lives get back to normal.
Goodbye.
